Got back late Saturday night. Enjoyed eating at The Hut again. I had a taco salad and my husband had the Cobb salad. They are HUGE and delicious! Had our annual s'mores party on our shore with the neighbors. Got dive-bombed by a bat. The knee made the 9-1/2 hr. drive easily. Had a great time and hope to do it again the last week of August before I'm back to school.

How can I get a copy of the sunset sailing pic from 2000 to save as a backround on my computer? I tried to go back in the past email, but was unable to find August 4th. I Really love the sailboat in the shimmering water.

Mary says: Theresa ~ try clicking on this link: Aug. 4, 2000 Archives. That should take you to the 660 X 440 pixel photo for that day on the Pasty Cam. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the larger files from that far back in the archives. Hope this helps.

Well, back to work after a great week in the Keweenaw, it went too fast! It was nice to see the tourist getting U.P. to the Keweenaw, all the hot spots seemed to be booming.

Had a chance to finally meet MS. Mary Drew and give her a hug, what a terrific lady!
Mary says: Hey Uncle Chuck, The feeling is mutual. I'm so glad you stopped by to introduce yourself in person, it's great to put a face to the names on here. Sure hope your back is feeling better! :->

Already planning my next business trip to Marquette, and Marty, Grampa Norm and I will be U.P. in September, oh well, back to work.

Had the bright idea to go tubing in Lac La Belle last week. Everything was going fine until the wind kicked up and we hit a wave and went flying and my sister (Norma from Midland) landed on my back. My brother in law got it on film and my wife was driving the boat, too darn old for that! I heard someone mention life insurance, lol!

Uncle Chuck, relatives are hazardous to your health. Hope you feel better but I bet your family is real happy they got that on video.

Wind in the Keweenaw....
When we were recently in Eagle River, we experienced the most beautiful wind storm. Up on the dune, you could sit out; down on the beach you couldn't even walk for being sandblasted. Couldn't hear the person next to you. Wonderful waves. My cousin said that it had been very windy for quite a while. Great lightning storms out on the lake.

Back here I had gone to a GREAT 'senior citizen' trip to the national weather center near me (White Lake MI) and the climatologist said there were "higher than normal wind and storms for this area" predicted due to global warming.

Interesting....
