Some of that same white stuff fell from the sky this weekend here in the Keweenaw Peninsula, just like it did eight years ago. What are the odds?...

Good morning!
First Post

By anita king (Anita5) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 06:30 am:

morning all. Have a blessed day. This is one of the most beautiful pics I have ever seen. The snow is soooo white. It looks like an apple tree in white blossoms instead of pink.

By Paul Oesterle (Paulwebbtroll) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 06:52 am:

Good morning all! I'd hate to have all that snow in my driveway!

By timd (Timd) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 07:41 am:

Good morning! Twenty below here in kingsford, Mi.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 07:42 am:

Good Morning, Everyone, on this frigid morning in mid-Michigan! That is a beautiful picture of the pristine snow. We could make ours look like that, is we blew our snow all in one direction with our snow blower, LOL. My guys have made the bricks on the front of our garage, etc, look rather strange, when they were playing with the direction they threw the snow. I know, UP there probably had that much fall from the sky, but you can still have fun. :-)

By Theresa R. Brunk (Trb0013) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 07:44 am:

I sneaked a peak at the pic for today, yesterday and already have this beautiful 'snow blossom' tree as my computer wallpaper. although I wouldn't want all that snow in my drive way either, the thought of maybe just a day to trudge across a field and make a few snow angels, helps me clean the kitty litter and sort thru old bills and shred them. Once again I thank you for a tremendous job on keeping me happy and having something to look forward to each and every morning. So with that said, Good Morning to everyone and Congratulations Susan for two early birds in a row!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 09:18 am:

Good morning! My what a beautiful picture. I keep changing my wallpaper. This is definitely a pasty cam calendar picture. It's befitting for the day also. Holy smokes it's cold! Can't wait for this arctic wave to pass. It's pasty making day today.

By k j (Kathiscc) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 09:52 am:

Hey Deb S.- I'll be right over.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 10:06 am:

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 02:47 pm:

Cold here in Berkley but the sun is out.My grandson Tim Ozanich spent the night and he is pestering Jimmie the fat white cat. Jimmie hides every once in a while and Tim runs around the house looking for him. Boy this old shack is cold today. Can't find a warm spot. When I was a kid you could stand by the kitchen stove and stay warm. That is till my dad screwed it up and got an electric stove, no more wood stove for him, he moved into the twentieth century. Just found out that some of my meds are no longer covered by my insurance. Great being a senior in the US isn't it? Still better then in some other places.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 04:39 pm:

That's a bummer, Mikie. Are your meds not covered because they are now OTC (over the counter)? Zyrtec, for allergies, is going OTC on Tuesday, so ours will probably not cover it anymore.

If Jimmie the fat white cat is cold, I'm surprised he doesn't settle down on your lap or Precious's. (Our house is pretty drafty, too.)

Or is it a case of the insurance companies not covering brand name drugs, only generic equivalents, even when no generic equivalent exists, in some cases, now? Either case makes me unhappy. They are not supposed to be practicing medicine; they don't have a license to practice medicine.

(Sorry for the double post--I didn't realize the first one posted, and I was updating it. I must have hit the wrong button.)

By Snowman (Snowman) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 04:50 pm:

Oh boy, too many brewskis, I've got double vision.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 06:41 pm:

Marianne, Jimmie doesn't leave Precious lap unless the boys are here. Then he is in the midst of the play. He is more like a dog then the Yorkie we had. Right now the two of them are sitting watching the news and cuddled up with an afgan. My potato soup was excellent, best I ever made hope I can remember what I did.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 08:39 pm:

That's awesome, Mikie! Potato soup sounds wonderful! I can't remember the last time I had potato soup. Do you share your recipe? :-)

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 11:06 pm:

STEADY SNOWMAN, pace yourself buddy! lol

By Dunerat (Dunerat) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 11:22 pm:

Ever hopeful, I constantly peer into the darkness out over the
big lake. Got rewarded just now with the sight of a late season
boat. Gotta be cold out there amid all that ice and wind. Thought
I saw something down at Grand Haven a couple of hours ago. We
have a place in our living room where you can stand and by
contorting your neck, see the lights of the Grand Haven pier as
well as Muskegon. Probably a thousand-footer from the looks of
her stern lights; Gonna have to look her up on Boatnerd
tomorrow. Say a prayer for those mariners, though I suspect
they know what they're doing. So good to see them at this time
of year, especially after our shoreline ice is in. A rare treat to see
any kind of lights out there until March 25. Sleep well and stay
warm, all.

I can't believe that they gave away that game the way they did!! Oh well, maybe it'll be different next year; at least I'll be able to cheer them on from the Ambasador!

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Sunday, January 20, 2008 - 11:03 pm:

Brett, hang it up, you lost the game! Give that back up his turn, he's ready! Thanks for your service Brett!

By Danielle L. Adams (Badkid) on Monday, January 21, 2008 - 12:10 am:

Well I dunoo Brett may be back for another season...we shall see. Can't complain though, they were almost there and it was stolen from them. Guess it wasn't meant to be.

By Steve Haagen (Radsrh) on Monday, January 21, 2008 - 12:53 am:

Come on now Uncle Chuck I used to like you ;) Brett is not ready to hang it up, he will be back and we will go on to the big game ;)

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Monday, January 21, 2008 - 04:22 am:

Just upset Steve!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, January 21, 2008 - 07:58 am:

I'm with Uncle Chuck. Brett played horribly. He should retire and do the Packers a favor. Let the young kid play. He deserves a try before Brett turns 50.

By k j (Kathiscc) on Monday, January 21, 2008 - 09:29 am:

Hey Mikie- have you tried this? https://www.pparx.org/Intro.php
Sometimes you can get the pharmaceutical company to give it you. If you qualify. Try it. Doesn't cost anything to try.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Monday, January 21, 2008 - 11:43 am:

KJ I am afraid I don't qualify for most of the programs.
