After a long dry spell the snow finally came on the 10th of December in '99. No records set that year. This year maybe?

Good Morning, Everyone!

Dark pre-Christmas sights of Downtown always bring me back to the days when my Grandmother would hold my hand and we would window shop. She would have on this large corsage with red and green bulbs and a bright red ribbon. Why don't they make those any more?

Mornin', it's 29 here in AMA. Supposed to get ugly later on today.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Monday, December 10, 2007 - 07:10 am:

Good Morning! We are in another winter storm/ice warning here in Eastern Iowa for later today and tonite. Ugh! Snow is better!

Finally, some snow in 1999.

By Marsha, Genesee/Aura (Marsha) on Monday, December 10, 2007 - 08:30 am:

Well, my husband finally made it home from Florida late yesterday afternoon after having the flight to Flint cancelled because of our snowstorm (which did not yield a single flake of snow!). First they were sending him from Jacksonville to Atlanta to Seattle to Cincinnati! Then they were sending him from Jacksonville to Atlanta to Baltimore to Chicago. And probably from there to Metro to Lansing! Then my daughter had to drive him to Flint. It ended up better when they came directly from Atlanta to Metro to Lansing. He said Lisa is worse than he expected, fine from the waist up but everything below is a mess.

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Monday, December 10, 2007 - 08:54 am:

Marsha: I'm so sorry you didn't get all good news. It must be so hard to have Lisa so far away.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Monday, December 10, 2007 - 09:42 am:

I'm curious who the brilliant one was who was going to route your husband and your daughter from Atlanta to Seattle to Cincinnati? That person, whether a travel agent or an airline ticket agent, should be fired for gross incompetence! They should at least have some general idea of US geography to work in that field. That would have taken an extra day to get home with that game plan. I'm glad that your husband and daughter finally managed to get back to Michigan after that fiasco!

Marsha, I am really sorry to hear that the news about your injured daughter was not better! Is there someone down there, with her, or who can at least look in on her, and have her best interests at heart? My thoughts and prayers are with her and with your whole family that she will eventually recover fully.

Egon was born in ESTONIA and now live in Finland.

By Marsha, Genesee/Aura (Marsha) on Monday, December 10, 2007 - 12:16 pm:

Marianne: It was an airline ticket agent. Crazy, huh? My daughter has a boyfriend there and 4 high school age kids who live with her ex-husband. She will certainly be needing long-term care, even after the lengthy hospitalization.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Monday, December 10, 2007 - 08:01 pm:

That is crazy, Marsha! I am really glad to hear that your daughter has a support group down where she is. She will really need it, but she needs it now, too, when she is stuck, laying flat on her back. At least they can bring things to her from home, or whatever. And, I would think she will need long-term care, after a lengthy hospitalization and many surgeries. My thoughts and prayers are with you all! Take care, and hang in there!
