This was Cliff Drive - between Ahmeek and Phoenix - about 8 Octobers ago. I traveled it yesterday, and it was even more colorful.

By anita king (Anita5) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 07:06 am:

Morning all. I love the color

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 07:07 am:

Good morning! Nice pictures today.

By Theresa R Brunk (Trb0013) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 07:13 am:

Good Morning. Raining here in Tampa. We sure need it. Just not Hurricane size rain :) Filed for unemployment yesterday, and started updating my resume. Only good thing coming out of this lay-off is I get to see the new posting to Pasty Cam every morning. I would love to see these Fall colors in person... but since I can't... this is the Best View by far. :P

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 07:26 am:

Good Morning, All, from misty, foggy mid-Michigan. Hmm, it reminds me of some of spooky poems and stories of old, including the headless horseman, etc. :-)

I love the fall colors in the picture. Even more color must be awesome!

Best wishes, Theresa in your job search! I hope you find a good job, close to home, quickly!

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 07:43 am:

I am going to keep this serene picture in my mind's eye while I am stuck in the MRI capsule later today.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 08:00 am:

Ask if they have Lake Superior sounds for the headphones Janie. Hope it's nothing serious!

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 08:02 am:

We could always wallpaper the inside of that MRI tube for ya Janie with fall colours of the Keweenaw.....

Still hot and sticky here. The weatherlady says it feels more like August than October and there's the threat of something tropical brewing again for the weekend. I believe the Hades comment from yesterday might not be a far exaggeration after all if it stays like this much longer....

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 08:03 am:

LOL Deb!! Around here I would be shocked if the staff has even heard of Lake Superior!

By Marsha, Genesee/Aura (Marsha) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 08:12 am:

Keep those leaves on the trees for me to see when I'm UP Thursday! We don't want any windstorms before then!

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 08:38 am:

Good morning, little foggy but no delays like near Lansing.

By FJL (Langoman) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 10:10 am:

Check John Dee's site for fall color........

By Snowman (Snowman) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 10:28 am:

Hello everyone! I have enjoyed Pasty Cam for a long time now and finally decided to register. Love the daily pictures and love the discussions.

By Theresa R Brunk (Trb0013) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 10:34 am:

Welcome Snowman!! We would love to know your name and where are Ya from? Well, at least I would lol. One thing I would like to ask... what makes you a snowman..... Is it your hair or are you broke down into three distinct parts. :-P

By U.P. Northland (Snowman) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 10:53 am:

That's funny Theresa! I guess you can say what makes me a snowman is that my mid-section does resemble a snowman. Too much of the "good life"!

By FJL (Langoman) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 11:17 am:

Congrats to the Mich. State Legislators on reaching a comprehensive budget agreement to raise taxes across the board......

By Marsha, Genesee/Aura (Marsha) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 11:21 am:

Love your picture, Snowman. We're always curious about what our pasty friends look like!

By Marsha, Genesee/Aura (Marsha) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 01:07 pm:

Just informed by my local library that Night Work by Steve Hamilton is ready for me to pick up. Still waiting on Joseph Heywood's latest. It's nice to have a UP book to take UP with me. If UP stands for Upper Peninsula, what does DOWN stand for? Be nice.

Just enjoyed E. Neil Harri's latest uploads of moose in Baraga County thanks to Rowdy. I want to see 4 moose at once like he did; I want to see 1 moose!

Mary says: Stay tuned for tomorrow's Pasty Cam photos, which will feature Neil's moose shots and more... :->

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 01:29 pm:

I would love to see even one moose, particularly if it were a bull moose, and he were not crossing the road in front of me on the highway. :-)

I would use LP, not DOWN. :-)

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 01:31 pm:

Welcome Snowman. I see that you are in shape...round is a shape.

By Snowman (Snowman) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 01:54 pm:

Cindy, you should see me after a sauna! Or should I say, you shouldn't see me after a sauna? :-)

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 02:18 pm:

Oh, there are sooooo many things I could come up with for DOWN; my quick wit and I would get into trouble though ;-)

On a lighter note. As I sit here in my office, I can't help but be reminded of those new CareerBuilder.com tv commercials. I keep telling myself not to take the bait of free food today; that's how they trick you into attending pointless meetings.......

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 02:51 pm:

oh, man, Capt Paul, you have that so right. I couldn't believe how the teachers would dive for the free food before a staff mtg. I do believe I went to one or two in my 39 year career that were helpful or interesting! (ok, half a dozen--hope nobody knows where I worked--I have friends there!)

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 03:57 pm:

I haven't seen any benefit to any meeting that does not have food or dancing. Business meetings should be held in rooms without chairs...they would come to the point much quicker...er, if there was a point.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 04:05 pm:

Meetings are a very good time to practice lifelong skills I learned in College (sleeping with my eyes open) I paid $350 a credit hour for that, thank you very much!

By Snowman (Snowman) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 04:21 pm:

Sounds familiar. I went to U.S.S.P., University of Sleep, Snore and Party.

By FJL (Langoman) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 05:52 pm:

Sounds like you attended U.W..........

By Snowman (Snowman) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 06:03 pm:

Hmmm, this must be the "Wheel Of Fortune", okay, I'd like to buy a vowel, please.
:-)

By k j (Kathiscc) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 07:27 pm:

Mary- How do we change email addresses? Can't seem to find the right spot to do that- only passwords, etc. Please answer here, as I have already closed my other email account.

Mary says: To change your email address, send the new address to me at: mdrew@pasty.com and I'll enter the new one for you. It's purposely set that you cannot change your email address yourself, to prevent spammers from registering with a valid email address, then changing it so they can overload us with junk posts.

By Paul Oesterle (Paulwebbtroll) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 07:50 pm:

Janie T. I share your pain. I was in the MSU MRI for a little over 2 hours today. I am still woozy from the Xanex pill I took to help me through it!! Now the 3 day wait for the results. Will keep you in my thoughts.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 - 11:28 pm:

Dancing at a meeting??? Only if the pro ladies from "Dancing with the Stars" were at that meeting would I be interested in attending ;-)

The Dr. and I have to attend a meeting at the end of October for a week!!! The good news; it's a geologic conference held in Denver, which already makes it interesting. AND, after the meeting, we get to play in the Rockies for a few days; what could be better than that?? (other than coming home to live in the Keweenaw, of course!!!!)

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 - 11:11 am:

Well, in reality, a dance is actually a "meeting" but much more fun the usual kind. I would even skip the free food if there is dancing. :-)
