The happy couple walking off into the sunset in Eagle Harbor, is Steve and Julie Hamilton. I'd say they picked a perfect day for a wedding in the Copper Country foliage. With the sun shining through the trees like that, it illuminates the color in between all darkness of the pines quite well. So now for their anniversaries to come, they'll always be able to take a Keweenaw color tour to celebrate their special day.

The second splashy display is from Dotty Kinnun, showing off another view of the foliage along the roadside here UP North this time of year. The only bad thing about all the color, is that it just doesn't last long enough :o(

I love the lighting and the color in today's pictures, especially the second one. It looks like it has natural spotlights and highlighting on the autumn color. Thank you, Julie, Dottie, and Mary.

I agree Marianne, just splashes of light.

Hi Paul! We have some color down here, but with this strange weather the trees are all out of sync. Some sugar maples dropped their leaves green, some dried and dropped, some turned orange and russet and are now bare, and many trees are still green. No frost yet, and the weather is more like summer. However there are some stretches of road and trail that are lovely, particularly to the southeast on higher ground towards Gaylord. Thursday I drove to the south end of Pickerell Lake road and it was beautiful. I would guess best color is about two weeks away. This time last year we had about 8 inches snow.

Thanks Therese.

My husband and I were married 24 years ago (Oct. 8, 1983) in my parents' yard in Gay. It was a beautiful fall day, with all the colors. Two days later there was 6 inches of white, fluffy snow out in that same yard!
