Is the editor paying attention to the snide post by Julie, WA?

While the post by Julie seems a little silly it's a stretch to it's snide & rude. What has happened to us when get offended at such non issues?? We need to get some thicker skin.

The picture is beautiful - how are the colors in the UP? Down here in Minnesota they are just starting to change & aren't as spectacular as I remember them being in the good old UP.

I think someone needs to chill. I think the comment by Julie was more of a question then anything else.

Can the topic of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church be dropped once and for all, please? It ruffles someones feathers at the slightest mention of it every time. It's getting OLD

I was told that in order to avoid disagreements one should never discuss religion or politics. It seems to be a sore subject each time either one comes up on this page. Maybe we should agree to disagree and leave it at that.

I agree!! I was taught the same thing, there is a time and place for everything and this isn't a political or religious forum.

Julie WA did not make a snide comment. She presented an
accurate architectual answer to the question about what type of
church is was. Some types of churches use different ornamental
devices and she was correct that it was probably not an Old
Apostolic Lutheran because they would not present that in their
appearance. Some folks get really defensive at the mention of a
particular religious group. It was a delightful photograph and
the folks (whoever) who built the church should be very, very
proud of a beautiful building.

I think its interesting that the only religious group ever mentioned here is OALC and always in a derogatory manner towards members of that church. I too, thought that Julie, WA's post was in poor taste considering all of the posts on the OALC here in the past months. Tom must have read Julie's mind in order to know she was making an accurate architectural answer to a question. Other churches also don't have crosses. As far as "ruffled feathers", have you seen any postings degrading Catholics, Methodists, Baptists and other Lutherans here? NO, you haven't! And then you wonder why there are ruffled feathers from people who are offended. America is a free country and we are all here to worship freely. There is high respect in this land for the Amish and Mennonites who embrace a lifestyle very similar to OALC members, and they are not noted as a cult, or brainwashers, or weirdos or anything else like OALC members have been depicted on this site. I'm sure this will create a barrage of posts but the main message I'm trying to get across is that all of us as Pasty users should treat everyone with respect and keep this website fun and interesting so everyone can enjoy it.

And you must be reading Julie's mind to "know" that she meant it as an offense. :(

Answer to Julie in case it was a question: you're right, it's not the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. There's only one up there and it's in Hancock near the hospital.

Grace and peace and to you. I am hoping someone from the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church (or anyone that uses this feature) might be able to answer my question or direct me in the right direction. The Lutheran church I attend in Brush Prairie, WA is wanting to expand our ministry to our elderly shut-ins who cannot come to worship services on Sundays. Members from the Old Apostolic Lutheran church in our area talk about something they have at their church called "The Patch". This allows members of their church to call a phone number on Sunday mornings and they are patched into the sound system so they can hear the service. Members of the Old Apostolic Church love to share that they have this feature, but would love to not tell you exactly how it works, or who you could reach at their church to learn more about it. If anyone has knowledge on this Phone Patch and could let me know where I would find more information, I would be forever grateful....and so would our shut-ins who so badly want to be part of our worship services.
