What a unique reflection Tom Cook caught on Pete's Lake, which is located just south of Munising. The waters are so still, it's hard to tell where the branch ends and mirror image begins. Fascinating! Reflections like this and shadows like those in the second photo taken by Joyce Tormala have a charm all their own that somehow keep a person enthralled. Like the three amigos in silhouette here, they seem unusually long-legged and busy doing something you can't quite make out. I think I know which one is Joyce. Can you pick her out?

Just a reminder that it's opening day of firearms deer season. A related bonus photo can be viewed over in Neil Harri's Gallery of three bucks walking along the Keweenaw shoreline as they're escaping the Keystone Bay fire back in August. If you're on a high speed dial-up, such as Pasty.Net's wireless DSL, click here to view the full size photo: Three bucks (large) or here to view a small size file of the same photo: Three bucks (small). While out on the hunt, be careful, stay safe and have fun!

When I opened the Pasty website, the day and date showed Monday, the 13th but when I clicked on the photo to get to today's page, the day and date were correct..who is playing tricks?? LOL

Monday the 13th! And it isn't even April Fools Day!

The first one looks like some strange water bug skeleton, or maybe some super-gripper tongs. The second pic has the two on the right sharing a view of a fantastic find from the beach while the third has the collection bag ready or maybe a cauldron for stone soup!

Very unique pictures! The shadows on the beach almost look like there is an apostle or saint in the middle!

Wow...the stick shadow photo by Tom Cook is absolutely intriguing! and I LOVE shadow pictures...people, dogs, etc... Joyce's photos are always fun and inspiring! Love 'em! :)

I think Joyce is on the left in the picture.

Awesome shots from both today.

I love the first photo. We used to go up to my grandparent's cottage on Corner Lake every summer in that same area. Beautiful...

I'm the skinny one with the rock bag.I like the fact that shadows hide those extra pounds. Dan Hirvi is the priest. Are the baggy pants still in style? My favorite feature in "MAD" magazine was "The Shadow Knows".
