Eight years ago our Pasty Cam caught the Keweenaw Road Commission making final preparations for winter -- placing guides along the road so the plow driver knows where the edge is.

This weekend, high wind warnings are up for the Keweenaw, with winds gusting to 50 mph (80 kph). I think I'll partake in one of my favorite activities for such days -- head to McLain and watch the waves. Weather radio is predicting 22 footers east of Marquette. Road trip!

Deb, As you know I am not an early riser so on the occaisions that I do get so close maybe the powers above, in the UP could give me second place as a little recongnition of my early rising. Cold windy raining here in Berkley and I have to go to Lansing today for my nephews wedding, tried to talk him out of it, but you know how young love is. I can't believe that Precious and I were married forty years ago and are still together.

Hi everyone,it is a quiet day today. It was a beautiful fall day today but I don't dare go out by myself yet. This is just my 2nd day without my cane. It is 17 days ago that I had my hip replacement. I am really amazed at the quick recovery. Fran

Hei Fran, Welcome back to da pastycam! Glad to see you're up and around again. Keep up with your pt. It makes a difference. My corneal transplant is coming along, too. Can't see very well yet, but it feels better now. Just getting a hint of depth perception, too. Happy about that.
