This pair of fawns seem quite intent with their task at hand (or should I say hoof), enjoying themselves on the shores of Drummond Island. Today's photographer, Mona Grigg lives on the island and as if that isn't lucky enough, she also gets to watch the antics of critters like these two. It's not every day you see a fawn, let alone two of them frolicking and kicking up their heels in the water near shore. Ahh, to be young again, like them...

Far East end of the Peninsula Alison.

The upper peninsula, not the Keeweenaw Peninsula.

I hope these cute little fawns are able to make it through the winter. That they have enough feed to get them through. We do lose many to the elements of our winters.

Lol, I had "Upper" Peninsula there, really I did!!

Speaking of fawns, my daughter found out this morning she is having a girl (human), her second daughter. I knew there would be a way to work that into the conversation!

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 - 05:21 pm:

Hooray, Marsha! Glad you fitted that info in. You'll have to send us
a pic. of your daughter's fawns. Today's picture looks a lot like
what I saw near my Dad's camp this past July. I was lucky to see
two adults playing with the fawns as well. I did stay out of their
way. We had an angry doe (the mother of the fawns) chase a
couple of local dogs and one adult, so I know how "surly" they can
be when in protect mode.
