Happy Memorial Day to all!

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Monday, May 29, 2006 - 12:59 pm:

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day :) As of today, only six more weeks...or 42 days until I head home to Michigan. Yeeeeee haaaaaaaaw!

Margaret, Thanks for the pics of your graduating class. It makes me realize how against so many odds, these teenagers persevere and graduate from high school...what a victory for the graduates, the school, and of course wonderful dedicated teachers, such as yourself :) Thank you for our future ;)

Sur5er, are you out lounging in your pool yet?

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Monday, May 29, 2006 - 02:04 pm:

Thumbgardner, I'm getting ready to head out there in a little bit, with a really good book and a glass of iced tea :) I was working on paperwork all weekend long, and decided to make a dent in cleaning my office before I headed outside today.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Monday, May 29, 2006 - 03:08 pm:

cleaning an office, what a unique idea, maybe I would have a little more room if someone would put her music away and not leave it on my desk. When I worked this desk was always spotless, I put my stuff away. Now someone I live with has to put something on every flat area in the house, even though this is my office. Happy Memorial Day to everyone.Had a great time in Port Huron doing my reenactment,Tim my grandson who is three, finally realized that Pa, that is what he calls me, has an unlimited source of dollar bills that he, Tim, can buy things with. Dani, his mother says that I spoil him, what do you think?

Hi Ron & Deb just wanted to say hi, hope you make it home safe. the falls were great!!!! just want to make sure you get home ok.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, May 29, 2006 - 07:14 pm:

Hey Tim, Here we are. Had a great time! Glad to see you guys made it home okay too.

To everybody out there in pastyland, you should be SO jealous of our weekend (unless you live in the Copper Country, of course). We spent a couple of hours climbing to the top of Hungarian Falls and taking MANY pictures. Then we went to Eagle River and drove around out there, got out and took pictures of the Eagle River Falls (which are running GREAT by the way) and on to Jacobs Falls. There were a lot of people swimming above the Eagle River Falls and having a blast because the temps were in the high 80's. What a nice day to swim. Then we went to see Ruth Ann Miller's gravesite. Roger, you gave me absolutely wonderful directions to the site. I had no trouble finding it at all. I took many pictures, said a couple of prayers for the little girl and her mom, and went on my way. It was a sad thing to see, but I'm so happy that I finally did.

I DID get to visit with Mary. That was nice. I hadn't seen her since not too long after high school. Mary was TRYING to show me some things on the computer, but I'm kind of computer illiterate so I'm hoping it sank in. I thank her for taking the time to work with me.

Anyway guys, it was a great weekend. We went out past the end of the earth (Freda, MI) to my cousin's restaurant The Superior View. What a view they have.

Glad to be back visiting with you guys but wish I was doing this from the comfort of a beautiful home on the shores of Lake Superior.

Hei Mikie, I've seen a poster that says, "A clean desk is a sign of a sick mind!" :o) Very warm today here in Cornell, 92°F at 12:30 pm. What a day to be riding the mower. Whew!

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Monday, May 29, 2006 - 10:38 pm:

Ken, Now you know. My wife must have the healthist mind in the world.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 - 06:06 am:

Ken, Where is Cornell, and what is a mower? I retired from using those things. That is what Doug is for.

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 - 07:22 am:

Mikie--

Your wife and I must have a lot in common.
Someone gave me that sign, but it's lost
somewhere on my desk...

Glad the re-enactment went well.

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 - 07:27 am:

Usedtobeayooper--

Sounds like you had a delightful time. Our
weekend was more bittersweet. We loved
being able to spend time with our son, but the
knowledge that this was the last time we
would see him before he leaves for Iraq
certainlly clouded our perspective.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 - 07:45 am:

Kosk, My heart goes out to you and to all who's sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, etc., are leaving for Iraq. I'm so happy that you got to see him first because they're over there for so long. Keep the faith and we'll be praying for his well being.
