Michelle Lutke Biggers and her hubby Brett recently took a drive to Painesdale along M-26 and found lots of color in that area. She mentioned that things are changing fast now and of course it all depends where you are... some areas are really flooded with color, while other areas are just beginning. This drive though is something else to see, color surrounds you on both sides of the road.
We’re on top of Brockway Mountain for a recent look at what the color is doing there. Michelle recorded this shorty after the photos above were snapped, so you can see the difference in the color cover at Brockway, compared to the trees near Painesdale. There was still quite a bit of green in the Copper Harbor area. But again, the leaves are changing fast right now.

Outstanding colors! And absolutely love the Brockway video :) Not getting UP there on this trip, but we are seeing a lot of that same vibrant foliage around here, Sugar Maples are simply Stunning!!!

It is so beautiful...how was the road going up the mountain? I hear it's bad. It's been on the news that the road needs to be repaved, but it will cost approx 10 million dollars! I called Keweenaw County Road Commission, and asked if they thought of a "Go Fund Me", and put signs on top of the mountain, and leave them in winter for snowmobilers. He said "we talked about it". Then, DO IT! (my two cents.)

Beautiful! We went out chasing color on Sunday. It's not peak, but the beauty is amazing. Houghton to Twin Lakes was my favorite, though the covered road was nice, too. Copper Harbor wasn't there yet. It's definitely gorgeous out there.

The Color seems to be at least a week behind "normal". A bright sunny day is so important to appreciate it all. Last Monday (10/5) was cloud free enough to see from the satellite. Modis True Color - Lake Superior
