Nancy Haun does a wonderful job on the upkeep of the grounds at the Bishop Baraga Shrine overlooking Keweenaw Bay, between Baraga and L’Anse. If you’ve never been there or haven’t stopped there recently, it is worth the stop to spend some time there to explore the grounds. Not only will you get to see all the beautiful flowers that Nancy says sure seem to be lasting longer this year, you’ll also get to enjoy the gentle peace you’ll find there. But don’t wait too long if you want to enjoy the flowers, as they won’t be there once the cold gets a-hold of them. You can read the memorial plaques, maybe even light a candle in the Candle Lodge. With Fall quickly approaching you’ll get to sit there and enjoy the changing leaves, too.
The video was recorded a few weeks back by Nancy, on a gorgeous day at the Shrine. It really is a perfect place for peaceful reflection while looking out at Keweenaw Bay and Lake Superior. The beauty from up there is absolutely breathtaking.

Absolutely beautiful! Nancy does such a wonderful job there. Nice to see so many flowers still at this time of year. I still have a lot of mine too. Nice job, Nancy.

Always one of my favorite stops when in the Keweenaw. I won’t be back this year but hopefully next year. Until then these pictures will have to tide me over. Thanks Nancy.

Nancy truly has done a phenomenal job up there...many upgrades, lots of landscaping, at one point she even had the lights on the statue at night. It's been way too long since I've been in Baraga, so I don't know if it's still lit at night, but that was a gorgeous site too!
