On a recent foggy morning, Donna MacIntosh clicked on over to the Michigan Tech Webcams to see what the fog looked like on the Portage Lake Canal and she downloaded a few shots to share with us. Those first two captures I think would normally have the Portage Lake Lift Bridge in view, but the fog was hiding it quite well. That third photo is looking east from the R. L. Smith building on the Tech campus, showing the heavy fog bank over Portage Lake where it heads out to either Bootjack or the Lower Entry. I find it so interesting that the fog hugs the water like that. Nice captures Donna!

The fourth photo is from Donna’s brother Mike MacIntosh, snapped from his game camera. This one made me chuckle, as it looks like the bear is posing for the camera, just having a grand old time and waving at Mike!

We now join an excited Nick Behling from MI Playground after he spent a morning exploring on his paddelboard in Munising, where he found two shallow water shipwrecks. He said it was a great day and you can tell that from the enthusiasm in his voice.

Wow, nice fog pics Donna! My favorite is #3,
with the clouds on the horizon looking like a
great big pile of snow. Love Mike’s bear photo
too, looks so happy and silly! Just doing bear
stuff, I guess :))

Yep, the Lift Bridge would be in the top two! I
always check the Tech Webcams, Isle Royale's, the
Denali Puppy Cam (they raise pups for sled dogs,
and they are good sized now!) I found a page of
tons of webcams that I've not played with yet)
there is the Ilulissat icebergs in Greenland...lots
of Northern Lights there and they are finally
starting again! I'm stuck in the house, but
thankfully can still go world wide!

Mike's bear is a hoot!

I have always enjoyed fog pictures. There's
something so mysterious about them. The 3rd picture
is amazing.

And how cool is that bear? Love it!
