There are so many waterfalls in the U.P., I think I read somewhere that there are over 300 located UP here, so it’s no wonder that Michelle Lutke, Brett Biggers and Sisu never run out of exciting adventures to go on. You could actually multiply that number by the four seasons and there are even more, since the changing seasons also change the looks of the waterfalls, too. We’re at the Upper Leatherby Falls on the West Branch of the Huron River in the Huron Mountains today. Michelle says the longest part of this journey is the drive. Once you know where to go, the rest is pretty easy, with plenty more to see downstream from here. The whole area is full of hidden waterfalls to explore. Michelle’s bottom photo looks to be a conglomerate rock. She wasn’t actually rockhounding, but the refelction on the ‘heart’ in this one caught her eye, so she picked it UP. Nice find!
Michelle said she absolutely loves waterfalling in this area, as there are just so many waterfall gems all over. Her video gives you a good idea of the beauty all around there. She said that it’s not very far from Mount Arvon, but most explorers don’t keep going out this way. As always, if you’d like to check out more of Michelle & Brett’s adventures with Sisu their four legged companion, click here: Wandering Michigan
