Summer is the time of year when lots of critters have their babies and then the parents spend their time keeping them safe and teaching the youngsters how to survive in the wild. Madison Scheriff was lucky enough to capture some shots of a Doe and her twin fawns in the Escanaba area along with a photo of two adult turkeys with their twenty chicks... yes, you read that correctly... TWENTY of them and they’re all living together, the deer and the turkeys.

In the video Madison recorded, at about 7 seconds in, you can see a little fox run quickly by at the top left corner of the screen. That puts Mama Deer and her twin babies on edge and they stop to keep an eye on what that wily fox is doing, before moving on again. You also get a glimpse of part of the Turkey family, too.

Great pictures! I miss seeing the deer in the yard,
but hopefully that means they're not hungry. And
that's a lot of babies. Holy smokes! And mama deer
is definitely on alert there. Thanks for sharing.

Awww great photos and video of wildlife with
their babies! We see turkeys around quite often,
but they never seem to have that many young.
Think we have too many raccoons and opossums,
which I believe are both fond of eggs. Rough on
the ground nesting birds :( Imagine in the UP the
wolves might help keep other mammal populations
under control!

Not a problem! That's my grand niece in Escanaba,
she has the two Stenches! lol When she was real
little, she had a stuffed dog that she'd suck the
nose on. lol...I always called it Stench! So now,
she has two Stenches! But no nose sucking. lol
