Everywhere you go in the Copper Country right now, colorful flowers are blooming. We take a look at the beautiful array of lilies that Deb Simons has in her garden this summer. I used Google Image to identify what each of these pretty lilies are called, so correct me if I’ve identified them incorrectly. The colors are amazing, from the deep reds, oranges, white & purple, to the bright yellows, what an amazing welcome for Deb and Ron’s visitors, not to mention how wonderful it must be for them to see them surrounding their yard daily. I’d say there’s a ‘green thumb’ in the Simons family, but maybe it should be a ‘colorful thumb’ instead! Great job!

Next we join MI Playground with a summer adventure in the Munising and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore area. They start at Sand Point on their paddelboards and head out to explore the area, cliffs, waterfalls, shipwrecks (yes, they find some remains of shipwrecks and dive in to check them out), trails and downtown Munising, too.

bought them, but forgot by now, lol. I have a lot
more blooming now, along with some hydrangea and
purple bell flowers. Can't wait for one of my
favorites, cosmos to start. I just love them.

BEAUTIFUL flowers, Deb...that red one is so
beautiful....I always had issues getting a pic with
something red, bizarre!

My niece sent me a pic from Esky, with what looked
like carrot scrap....it's a mushroom that grows in
Asia and Nepal...just wild!

Deb, I just love your Lilies, they are gorgeous!
We tried to grow some of those Asiatic ones, but
the rabbits found them quite tasty and chewed
them all the way to the ground. The common orange
Daylily is a survivor though, even deer won’t eat them!
Cool Munising video too, it truly is an outdoor
paradise with so much to explore around there.

The video brought back memories of trips to Munising. I
have gone on the glass-bottom boat shipwreck tour. The
two men in the video did, however, do things that I
haven't and won't (paddle-boarding, eating a room-
temperature pasty).

Thank you guys. I love summer and don't know what
I'd do without flowers. But I do get tired of the
weeding.

And Kathryn, I love next day pasties at room
temperature, without ketchup.

Ok, DebS, I can give room temperature pasties a try
sometime.

When we were little, my 100% Finnish Grandmother
made pasty weekly. We ate a lot of room temp
pasties, Gram would take the leftover pasty fixins'
and make a big "pan" pasty in her cast iron
skillet, that was always left at room
temp....that's not a problem!

We always sprinkle cinnamon sugar on the leftover
crust. So good. But yeah, we never refrigerated the
pasties the first day. Delicious. My mouth is
watering.
