We’re doing some birdwatching with Chris Hendra over at Chris Hendra Photography. He starts us out with a Northern Flicker that he captured sitting in an old farm field out in Misery Bay. It looks like it’s posing for Chris, maybe even giving him a side glance to keep an eye on him.

Our next feathered friend is a female Eastern Bluebird that Chris spotted as it was gathering some nesting material. Just look at the beautiful hue of blue he was able to capture in that photo, so sharp and clear

And last, but not least, Chris was excited to get just the right shot of a Tree Swallow cruising over a field in Misery Bay. He said that these birds are a challenge to get photos of them in flight, so this was a special capture for him. How lucky we are that we get to be in on the action right here with him.

We wrap up our birdwatching with some peaceful evening birdsong from Woodsy Introverts. Amazing photos and listening to birds singing is
almost as good as listening to waves and
waterfalls.. almost.

I love watching tree swallows doing their aerobatics.
Not only are they performing an avian airshow, they are
hunting and killing mosquitos while they are at it.

A nice peaceful video from the Woodsy Introverts, and
an interesting comment about the 16-hour days.

Bet that female Flicker found herself an ant hill!
Ants are their absolute favorite food and they spend
a good deal of time on the ground foraging for them.
