A beautiful, quiet evening with not a ripple on the shores of Lake Superior in Eagle Harbor Township, west of Copper Harbor. George C. Bailey has that magical touch with capturing the most stunning photos of the Big Lake and the night sky in all their glory. Having the perfect spot to watch the night sky over Superior helps, but you also need to have the know-how to catch it all just right so that it creates a stunning scene. George does that every time he gets behind his camera lens and we’re lucky that he shares his expertise with us all.

So, do you think you know the Great Lakes? We’re treated to some little known facts from The Weather Network’s Marta Czurylowicz, about our backyard wonders, the Great Lakes. I was astounded by how many years it would take, drinking a half gallon of water a day, to drink all the water in Lake Superior.

"Golden Horizon" is my favorite. I don't have a camera
(or a smartphone). If I had, I could have gotten photos
of a couple of gorgeous sunsets when I was at my cabin
earlier this week. Being able to see the whole horizon
really enhances the view.

If there was only one person drinking it, Lake Superior
would not be at risk. Here's hoping that it stays the
way we all love it.
