Haven Falls Park in Lac La Belle is a county park where a small creek runs over a rock outcropping, forming a pool that then goes downstream to a footbridge and through the park as it makes its way to Lac La Belle waters. Cheryl Johnson captured both the park and the falls, with a nice zoom in of the falls when they were there last week. There is also a pavilion, restrooms and picnic tables, making it a nice place to enjoy a picnic lunch.
The next stop for Cheryl and her hubby, Phil was the Lac La Belle Boat Launch/Marina where Phil did a bit of fishing off the docks there. Cheryl said Phil almost had a fish on his line, but it changed its mind about being caught. What’s the saying? A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work... or something like that. At least the scenery was great and it looked like the weather was, too.
We wrap up this day with Doing It With Dish, exploring a few U.,P. Waterfalls, from L’Anse to Lac La Belle and more. He really put on some miles for this video and stopped at some spots I had never been to before. Enjoy the waterfall adventure.

In the late 50's my parents had a cottage at Red Sands for a few days, we had a picnic with extended friends & family at Haven Falls. Wonderful memories.

Hi I've never really gotten into fishing. Though I agree that hanging out, on your own time, in a peaceful setting by a lake or stream is better than being stuck at work. I just would rather do it with a book & a bathing suit.
I enjoyed the video, the guy has a good eye.

Visited Haven Falls many years ago when we stayed in Copper Harbor. Beautiful little park, great place for a leg stretch! The falls itself reminds me a lot of Jacob’s Falls at the Jampot. We also explored the Monks Trails and Arnold Mine ruins UP there, all very cool.
What a fun toad trip on today’s video! We really need to get back to the Keweenaw, there were some waterfalls featured that we still need to find. Thanks so much for sharing!

I love Haven Falls. I agree with Cindy in that it reminds me of Jacob's Falls. We always stop there. My husband used to like to climb them, as well as Jacob's Falls and Silver River Falls. Having 2 knee replacements has prevented him from doing that anymore, but we still like stopping and enjoying them.

Beautiful pictures today...and I love those "Dish" vids. When I worked at CCMH...we'd take clients on road trips and picnic at Haven Falls too....we have so much beauty U.P. here!

Haven Falls is not running as strong as I expected.
Very nice video.
What's that saying?... Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he drinks beer all day.
