Deb Simons and her hubby, Ron took a drive to Marquette recently and made a stop to stretch their legs at the Tioga Creek Roadside Park where they enjoyed the Falls there. Deb did a great job capturing some of the sights at this little park which is often overlooked because it’s on the side of US-41, near Covington and 11 miles west of Michigamme in Baraga County. It might look like just a restroom stop for folks, but besides the restrooms, you can enjoy the waterfalls and a picnic area, too. The lower drop of the falls is visible from the parking lot and a short walk from the park on the trail, will take you to a lazy slide over bedrock.

In the video Deb recorded, you can enjoy the lower drop of the Falls that flows under the bridge Ron is standing on in the 4th photo above. Make sure you have your volume turned UP if you want to hear the water sounds!

That is such an awesome Roadside Park!
Deb, love your photos and happy that you and
Ron had time to hike back to the falls and breathe
in that glorious fresh air. And perhaps a few
mosquitoes lol!
Last year we mapped out a day of waterfalls to
explore in the L’Anse area, and Tioga Creek was
our first stop on a misty overcast morning.
Simply beautiful and Pure UP! Thanks Deb ;)

I've often enjoyed stopping at the Tioga Park, went
to the falls several times. I have a photo of my Mom
standing on the bridge, taken circa 1997.

This Roadside Park is definitely one of our
favorites. We're always in such a hurry when we
have to go to Marquette that I think this is only
the 2nd time we've stopped there. And the last time
was years ago when our two youngest were very
young, and they're 39 and 40 now. Anyway, it was a
fun stop and this time we did a little exploring.
We had to leave because my hubby was getting
carried away by gnats and mosquitoes. They don't
bother me as much as they do him. I'm OK with
that:).
