When you need a moments peace, a visit to the Bishop Baraga Shrine between Baraga and L’Anse, is the place to go, anytime of the day, but when the sun is setting it’s absolutely gorgeous up there overlooking Keweenaw Bay. Nancy Haun snapped today’s photos and it’s hard to top that first shot. The second picture is a local visitor to the Shrine and it shows the peace that can be yours during the day there, as the view goes on forever.

Nancy’s third shot is her hubby Jim, doing what a retired man should be doing on a beautiful spring day...fishing. She said he didn’t catch anything that day, but he saw many fish interested in egg laying and fertilization, but none that were interested in being caught. Here again a peaceful way to spend a day.

A photo set from Nancy, wouldn’t be complete without a train photograph. That’s the Canadian National cresting the last climb through the rock cut between Herman and Summit. If you listen close, you might hear the clickety-clack on the railroad tracks.

For a bit more peace on this Wednesday, Nancy shares a Minute at the Shrine with us. The quiet is pierced by the chime ringing with the wind. You actually can hear the cars going by on the highway down below the bluff, too.

Baraga so much.

Agreed, that sunset photo is spectacular!
Never been to visit the Bishop, looks like
a place that needs to be on our bucket list.
All nice photos, and the video is soooo
calming and peaceful.

Neat shrine!

I assume that rail u-turn is only for railrods.

Cindy, definitely put the Bishop on your Bucket
List....there is just a "feeling" of sacredness you
get up there..it really does calm the soul.

Welcome Brian...I'm thinking you may be a newbie??
If I'm wrong...it wouldn't be a shock. Welcome
anyway!

That first picture needs to be framed. Beautiful
set.
