Beth Jukuri was out for a walk recently and spotted some spring flowers popping out. The sunshine we’ve had is helping them to bloom, that’s for sure. Hopefully we get some warmer temperatures now that we’re in the middle of May and that will help them pop out even more. I love the Spring Beauty flowers in the first shot. They’re so pretty and delicate looking. And of course what’s not to like about a bright yellow Daffodil! The Crocuses are a favorite of mine, they sprout and grow through old dried leaves and everything. They work hard to get out for all of us to enjoy. I just wish they lasted longer than they do. It’s such a treat to see the colors popping UP out of the ground.

We’re going underground with Old Lost Mines to find out more about the Grand Daddy of Michigan Copper Mines – Quincy Mine. The lead-in says: “The Quincy mine located in northern Michigan was one of the deepest copper mines in the world at the time and ran for close to a century. The depth was over 9000 feet deep.” Watch the video for the rest of the story!

Spring flowers are the best!!
Daffodils have always been one of my favorites,
and even the deer leave them alone.
We were able to get out for some early spring
wildflower walks down here in IN.
Now the Dogwood trees and lilacs around here
are just past their peak,
starting to look more like summer.

Enjoy the springtime bloom season UP there!

Hi
Yoopers, spring is when I see the biggest difference
between where you are and where I am downstate. All the
flowers you show appeared here about a month ago.
Tulips and lilacs are out here in Jackson. But the
photos you posted are cheerful, with the bright
sunshine and the lovely flowers

We went for a cruise yesterday, and there were just
a couple of periwinkle and one yellow (do they call
them trout lilies??) ONE...but there are little
green things pushing up...it won't be long now.
There are still little spots of snow on top of
Mt.Ripley.

I love these pics~

Hi
Donna, trout lilies have long mottled leaves that, to
someone, looked like a trout. And a kind of bell-
shaped
flower. I hope the link below works.

We went for a walk in the woods today and I didn't
see any flowers. What was nice was seeing the buds
on the trees. My favorite thing about spring, other
than it's no longer winter, is seeing the flowers
coming up and the buds popping out on the trees.
It's in the 70's here today and I'm loving it.
Thanks for sharing these great pictures, Beth.

Always great pictures and messages. Saw the post that asked for more people participating in Pasty, so here it is. Have been a silent participant for many years. Every morning it brought smiles to my face at my desk so I could face the day. Thanks. Does anyone know where "goldwinger"is? Haven't seen a post from him and always amusing. Here in Marquette (and I am sure there too) people are suffering with back problems. Wonder why? Been a very rough winter but enjoying the nice spring weather. Thanks for this wonderful website.

Lovecats, goldwinger is around. I believe he
commented today, the 18th.
