When Mandy Cadwell gets to spend a full day with her granddaughters and the sun is shining, it calls for some exploring, so Mandy called her Auntie JoAnn to join them in their adventure. The foursome spent the day hiking around the McCallum Creek in the Bootjack area and I’m not sure who enjoyed it more, Auntie and Grammy or those two inquisitive little ladies. It looks like they all enjoyed every minute together in the beauty of nature here in the Keweenaw and special memories were made that those youngsters will remember for years to come.
Speaking of adventures... we have a mixed bag of stories from Kristin Ojaniemi on Discover the U.P., episode 180. The lead-in says: “I talk to the DNR about the new eHarvest digital kill tags. Plus a Musky Expo that was held earlier this year in Watersmeet. A popular ATV trail has been re-routed this season due to construction on the Agate Falls Trestle, plus the waterfall is closed to the public during construction. And the DNR has a brand new website to make it easier to understand trout and salmon regulations by stream or lake.”

All those memories created with and by little ones. I would take these adventures when my Son was that age. It was only the wooded gully with a tiny creek behind our house, in the middle of our city. But he loved it. Now he does it with my Grandson.
Hi It's great that the girls have outdoor fun, with older family to show them the ropes.
The last photo, with no visible snow, is my favorite.

These are good pictures and lucky little girls. Like Kathryn, I really like that last photo.

Me too. And I'd really love to be fishing that McCallum Creek!

George, my husband would like to fish there for sure. He'd also like to fish the river at Bomd Falls. Is that the Sturgeon?

Not sure if it's the Sturgeon at Bond, Deb (and being here in CT doesn't help 'cause I can't visit there) but both of those rivers are gems!

Bond Falls is on the Middle Branch Ontonagan River.

Yes! That's right, D.A. I believe the sturgeon is canyon falls.
