Another adventure with Michelle Lutke, her guy, Brett Biggers and their four-legged baby, Sisu. They’re taking us to the Lake of the Clouds in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. Michelle said they were actually headed to Union Bay near the Porkies to watch the sunset, but saw that the road to Lake of the Clouds was open, so they made a quick change of plans and headed there instead. This was about a week ago and Michelle said the road was open and snow/ice free up to the Ranger Station, leading up to the Lake of the Clouds Overlook and it is gated at the Ranger Station, so from there it is about a ˝ mile walk (each way) on the road to the overlook.
Springtime at Lake of the Clouds is a different view with no leaves on the trees yet, but still quite the beautiful vistas to take in, as you can see from Michelle’s photos... you can see forever UP there in all directions it seems. I’m sure glad they changed their plans and headed there to share it with us all.
Michelle also recorded a video that she says is one of the best spring waterfall hikes in Michigan. This is the Presque Isle River in the Porcupine Mountains. She added that it is absolutely incredible right now and there is so much to see, you could spend a few hours or an entire day there. Make sure your volume is turned UP if you want to hear the sounds of the roaring waters.

What an adventure~ Awesome video too....and thank
you again for the voting reminder. I have noticed
the last few times, it's needed two clicks, it
doesn't work the first time!

Hi
Spring, eh? I see there was still ice in the Lake of
the Clouds. With regard to the video, I remember going
to the Presque Isle River years ago, but it must have
been in the summer. The flow was nothing like as strong
as we see in the video.

How beautiful! I love that area so much... in the
summer... or fall, lol. I love the Presque Isle
River and the falls along it. Nice job.
