We’re checking out a couple waterfalls in Baraga County with Linda Griffin today, starting with the Silver Falls. So pretty with the rushing water and the blue skies above. Next Linda treats us to several views at the Quartzite Falls, also in Baraga County, located on the Slate River. Plenty of water churned up and frothing, roaring on its way.
Then for “good measure”, Linda throws in a shot of Great Sand Bay in the Keweenaw, with whitecap waves rolling in and the blue sky peeking out from behind the clouds. So nice to see the ice gone from the shoreline and the beach.
And finally, Linda shares a photo of a three-legged deer that visits them. She doesn’t know how the deer lost its leg, as one day it came in to feed, dragging a part of the leg, then the next time it came in the yard, the leg was gone. Could have gotten hit by a car or perhaps a predator attack it survived. No matter what, it seems to be surviving pretty well so far.
We get to watch the Silver Falls in action with the video Linda recorded. Always a pleasure to see and hear the water as it’s rolling and roaring along.

Those falls pictures are amazing! Nice waves on the lake too.
Poor deer. That makes me feel so bad.

That deer is licking it's chops...It's amazing how nature adapts. I'm sure she's figuring..."I'm upright and able to take nourishment"...
Hi I didn't check the post last night (not after 10PM anyway); hope you are doing Ok, Mary.
Wild waters in the Quartzite Falls pictures. I would suspect the deer lost its leg in a car accident, or some other accident. It seems like a predator would've been able to finish it.

Thanks, Kathy...I'm doing well. I get the photos and the page document ready for each day then upload the photos to the server and email the document to Charlie. He does the final posting of it on the webpage each day. I'm guessing he was tied up with something.
