Judy Byykkonen enjoys the outdoors to walk with her dogs and a favorite spot to do so when Spring is starting to emerge in the woods, is Gardener’s Creek Nature Trail across the road from Calumet Waterworks Park. The nature trail has a few loop trails, along with three trailheads for a total of about five miles of hiking through the Calumet School Forest. Judy managed to capture some large mushrooms growing on a tree along the trail and then a number of photos of the water running in the creek, with still some ice hanging above the creek, too. Looks like a beautiful place to be with the beginnings of Spring happening.

Steve Brimm from over at Steve Brimm Photography chimes in with a similar creek, complete with all the serene sounds of the water (so turn UP the volume). He titled it “Sunday Sermon”, as he recorded it on a Sunday morning. So perfectly peaceful!

Beautiful pictures. Judy must have some good boots
to keep her warm and dry. She obviously loves her
dogs very much.

When we were kids, the Grandparents would pick
those mushrooms and have us kids "draw" on
them...then let them dry. Gram had one an old
ancestor did decades ago...ways to play with
Nature~

Spring is coming...be glad we get this amount of
snow...it protects us! I was chatting with a guy
that just got back from Idaho. He told me
"Everywhere is dry, except the U.P. Expect
droughts!" With the amount of wilderness we
have...this helps us stay safer!

Hi
Good perspective, Donna. I just checked a snow cover
map and the Keweenaw has about the deepest snow in
Michigan.

Always like to go down to 'Buckys' at the Lakeshore,
Would have like to seen a few pics of the actual
beach if visible or not.

Donna, and snow is better than hurricanes and
tornadoes.
