Here in the Keweenaw we didn’t get the predicted amount of snow during the blizzard warning, but we did get some winds, I’m not certain, but I think we had gusts of 45 mph or maybe a bit more. Those winds whipped Lake Superior into a frenzy and created massive ice along the shoreline out at Little Traverse Bay. Jeff Dennis, Chris and Fritz went out there to check it out and found amazing mounds, arches and tunnels to the Big Lake. As always, Fritz was quite photogenic and cooperative posing for the photos. He really is a good sport and well behaved, too. It looks like another planet along the shores there. I wonder how long it will take to break UP and float out further into Lake Superior?

From WINIX, we get a look at the Extreme Snowfall that Hit Michigan this past week. The lead-in to their video says: “A powerful winter storm has unleashed extreme snowfall across Michigan, bringing daily life to a near standstill. Roads are buried, highways are blocked, and emergency services are struggling to keep up as whiteout conditions sweep across the state. In this video, we take a closer look at the impact of this historic blizzard, the challenges faced by residents, and the ongoing response to one of the most severe snow events in recent years.”

Hi
My favorites are "Dueling Ice" and "Superior Tunnel".
In the photo "Fritz and the Little Traverse Arch" it
looked like either Fritz had a clump of snow on his
head or was growing a white horn. But on a second look
the white lump is part of the lumpy background.

Hi Kathryn, I love the same ones as you do. So
cool. They're all great, though. Fritz just keeps
putting on a show. What a great companion he is.

Awesome pictures. Thankfully we have Fritz and all
those adventures...Jeff and Chris...you all have
helped keep us from insanity.

Speaking of insanity...WHAT A STORM...we have no
idea how lucky we were. My niece sent pictures and
videos from Escanaba. She and her hubby rode
snowmobiles to downtown Escanaba, cause cars
couldn't. My nephew sent pics and videos...the vid
while he was snow blowing, sometimes you could see
him, and sometimes you didn't. My brother sent a
pic of his snowblower in his driveway...and the
snow was way higher than his snowblower...I'm old
and have never seen anything like it.
