Presque Isle Park, at the Cove is the perfect place to catch the sunrise over Lake Superior. Shannon, over at 906 Images, does what he does best capturing it superbly. He titled this group of pictures, “When Lake Superior Looks Like Clouds”, what a great description to encompass them all. Right away I thought I was looking out a window on a plane, above the clouds. Someone asked if this is what Heaven looks like, to which Shannon replied, I hope so! Then when the photos are a bit more above the Big Lake, you notice that it’s actually Pancake Ice, with one person saying the drone photo reminded them of Petosky stones. I love people’s different perceptions like that.
Then Shannon switched the channel on us and gives us a stormy video from the same area at Presque Isle. It’s like we’re living in a snow globe and every few days it’s given a good shake to keep us on our toes. For this video, Shannon said that winter is back in Marquette. One of the comments he got was, Back? I don’t think winter left yet this year. I agree... those are some fierce winds whipping over the Black Rocks. Mother Nature is teasing us with a few days of warmer, calm temperatures and then BAM... back to the winds and snow.
