The architecture all around the Keweenaw is interesting and intriguing all at the same time, whether covered in snow or standing tall in the sunshine. Jeff Dennis takes us on a mini-tour around the area, starting in Lake Linden after one of the “blizzard” days last week. That’s the City Hall looking a bit frosty, with a huge pile of snow just off to the right of the camera. Next is the City Hall tower and building in Hancock. Someone asked Jeff if they ever ring that bell in the tower, to which he replied that he hasn’t heard it in years, but he does recall hearing it ring when he was in High School next door.

Then Fritz takes us further north, to Copper Harbor with some paw prints in the snow. The next photo then shows how the explorers got there to the Lighthouse grounds. Since the Harbor is frozen, they couldn’t kayak there, so Chris & Jeff strapped on snowshoes (Fritz relies on his paws to get him where he has to go) and away they went.

Back in Lake Linden again for the last shot, which was snapped last week after one of the snow dumpings we received. Jeff said this was the perfect pass with the snowblower... so satisfying with lots of heavy wet snow in the driveway. Then he asked: “Do you want to build a snowman?” It probably was perfect snowman building snow, but no, after moving all that snow, I was too tired to build anything.

We wrap up this week with a glowing video from In The Keweenaw earlier in the month. A beautiful February winter sunset, casting a perfect glow on the Quincy Mine and the City of Hancock. Absolutely stunning, with a Sundog ending.

My favorite is the first one. I believe he posted
that on fb. I loved it then and I love it now.
Great adventures for Fritz.

Awesome pictures. And boys with their big toys for
moving that snow...that is so awesome.

Beautiful video...that is just so pretty, esp w/the
sundog!
