Jeff Dennis doesn’t let the moss grow under his feet or I guess this time of year, the snow accumulate there either. He was busy this past week, capturing views from his camp... I’m not sure if the two deer in his first view are dueling or just having a dance party, but it’s a great capture. Then his second deer friend is making quite a face at Jeff, not quite a smile, but Jeff said he wanted “deer-ections to deery-queen to get a blizzard with “cookie-doe”. Hmm... I wonder if he really said all that? The third photo is also out at Little Traverse, only in the daylight and I don’t know about you, but those icy shoreline sculptures really resemble sheep. They look a bit frozen though, so I hope Jeff helped them out of the water and took them in the camp to thaw out.
Next we get a look at several days worth of snow accumulated on the roof of Jeff’s jeep. He figures the rear defroster should take care of that. I’m skeptical if that will work or not. No worries, though, Jeff cleaned it off before he hit the road.
And lastly, a winter morning view from Ripley, where Jeff says the air bites and the snow squeaks under your boots. What a neat shot, with shadows from the tractor in the snow and the Portage Canal frozen as the backdrop for the scene.
While Jeff was busy capturing scenes on the north side of the bridge, In The Keweenaw was overhead on the south side of the bridge, recording the 5 pm traffic on the drive home through Houghton, including a view of the Yooper Loop from above and then crossing the Portage Lake Lift Bridge. Enjoy the drive!

Awesome pics...the first one is when the deer get
territorial over food. "Get out of my plate"! Those
bergs do look like sheep...Love the rest of the
pics too!
Cool Yooper Loop vid!

Very cool pictures. I always enjoy the deer, and
especially seeing how they're doing during this
weather. That's a lot of snow in that jeep. Wow!
The tractor picture is cool too.

Hi
I like the ice sheep. Getting the snow off the car
roof is a pain, but necessary. I used to have a snow
brush that telescoped to give a little extra reach
(I'm short). But, alas, it fell apart.
