We’ve had a couple dandy storms last week, with extreme cold temperature warnings, too and during that time, Debbie Jarve went out for a drive to document the over 183 inches of snow we had as of last week...I’m sure it’s more than that now. Her photos were snapped in the Calumet area, showing the snowbanks, snow plastered trees and signs on the poles that you couldn’t read anymore, along with snowbanks right to the bottom of stop signs and overhanging, deep snow on a roof. We’re ahead of last year at this time for snowfall and I for one would be OK if the snow and extreme cold took a break for a bit, before winter continues blasting us here UP North.

Visit Keweenaw shares their latest Crossing Place Video, featuring Brad Barnett, Executive Director of Visit Keweenaw talking about: “Sustainable Tourism in Action: Visit Keweenaw Destination Development”. The lead-in says: “At the center of destination development in the Keweenaw is a simple, shared cycle of support. When visitors stay with local lodging partners, those tourism dollars flow back into the community through Visit Keweenaw's Destination Development Fund - funding trails, access, art, signage, and outdoor experiences shaped by the people who live here. Those projects make the Keweenaw an even better place to call home, while creating meaningful, memorable experiences for visitors in return. This episode of the Crossing Place celebrates the partners, ideas, and care that keep that cycle moving, showing how thoughtful investment in place can strengthen a community and the experiences that bring people back.”

The Polar Plunge would do me in! But fun to watch!
We have snow!

My goodness we have snow this year. Maybe we'll
break our record. There seems to be no end in
sight. I love that second picture the best. Snow
makes the trees look so pretty. Thanks for getting
out there. I've been blessed with influenza A. Not
fun but I think it's finally going away. I didn't
mind being cooped up during these frigid days. Hope
everybody's staying healthy. Only a few more months
of this to go, we hope.

Hi
The "Snow on the Roof" photo really shows the snow
depth you have. I wonder whether it would cheer or
depress the people down south who are dealing with a
couple of inches?
