If you know Bob Gilreath, you know what a big train fan he is and if you didn’t know that, well now you do. Bob shared that over the last 49 years, they’ve crossed the U.P. more times than he can count and they’ve stopped at the little park there in Champion, just about as many times. Every time they stopped there, he would think that one of these days, he’ll catch the train coming by there and last week, he finally did! He got to fulfill one of his Bucket List items when he and his wife Liz were driving near Champion, MI, and they caught up to the back of the train. He realized he was only 2 miles from Champion, so he drove on ahead to the little park just off the highway and got in place to record the momentous event, while his wife captured him in the moment, too. Bob said he was like a kid in a candy store!
Check out the video Bob recorded. How fun that he has the photos and the video to always recall this exciting event for him, especially with the train whistle blowing like it’s saying hello Bob! Pretty cool and Congrats on accomplishing one of your Bucket List items, Bob!

Great set, Bob!!!
I especially liked the
echo from the train
whistle. I was sure I
would Nancy’s name
pop up. It looks like.
she has some competition.

Way to go, Bob. I love these pictures. I always
love them when the snow is set against the blue
sky. Just so beautiful. Throw that red train in
there and you have red, white and blue. What could
be better than that?
