When you have a dog, it makes you get outdoors for a walk. That’s what Barabara Bouwkamp, her hubby, Tom and their four-legged family member, Willow, did recently. She called it a little walkabout in the cold, crisp air with crunchy snow. Her description was spot on as she described the “white” nights when the sky is not black, but shades of light with snow laden skies...perfectly sets the scene for these photos, including the lights glowing around one of their neighbor’s home.
The third photo is the snowed-in Laurium Bandshell in Daniell Park, where each Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m., from July through Mid-September, they feature various local bands. It’s a great way to wrap up your summer evenings. And finally, when she saw the homemade backyard ice rink in her bottom photo, Barbara reminisced about the little rink her family had in their yard growing up, where the neighborhood kids played boot hockey games. It’s great to see that families still make rinks like this to enjoy.
We wrap up this day and the week, with a Christmas Eve view over the Keweenaw Waterway, including a beautiful, red colored, sunset sky, from In the Keweenaw.

Hi
Looks like there's plenty of snow in the UP. I was
thinking about how snow on the ground does give you
more light at night. Last night the nearly full moon
really lit things up.

calumet/Laurium area and got some great pictures.
They really decorated nicely up there.
