When Debbie Jarve heads out to capture wintry photos, she always completes the mission beautifully. Her first shot here today is my absolute favorite. Nature’s decorating, highlighted by lights on the tree before the snow arrived. Stunning for sure!
Debbie’s next shot is a treat for the critters in the cold, snowy months. The birds, the squirrels, we’ve even had turkeys in our crabapple tree, grabbing a quick treat. The bonus is those little crabapples also help to add some color this time of year. The last two photos showcase how pretty the snow on the trees look and also how the heavy, wet snow pulls branches down, bending the trees. Sometimes it’s so heavy it snaps the branches right off, other times the tree is strong enough that once the snow is removed, the tree will gradually bounce back and stand tall again.
906 Images shares a snow-covered Blackrocks in Marquette video today. Shannon said it's nice to be the first one at Blackrocks after a fresh snowfall! A very peaceful day and seeing the snow on the rocks is a treat!

I like all of these but the 1st is my favorite with the lights shining through the snow.

Hi The red crabapples against the evergreens looks like a nice Christmas card.
I noticed the way the waves washed the snow off the Blackrocks in the video. When I lived in the Kalamazoo area I often went over to South Haven, which is on Lake Michigan. The waves would make large icemounds that would then be covered with snow. So kind of the opposite effect.
Later this week we have the possibility of freezing rain and snowmelt and then maybe more wet snow. So I do enjoy seeing the snow pictures on this site.
