I really like this first photo here today for some reason, not sure what it is about it that draws me to it time and again, but it has grabbed my interest. Nancy Haun captured these deer at the Ford Switch, on the bottom of the L’Anse Hill recently. She said the deer are actually further away than they look in the photo.
The remaining two shots Nancy took at the Haunderosa. She said her hubby Jim drove in the yard with the hay to feed these deer and they were coming out of the woods before he could even get the hay unloaded. This time of year and especially during and after stormy weather, the deer herd depends on food like this and if you’re feeding them on a regular basis, they’re usually waiting a short distance away, watching for you to arrive with something for them to munch on.
Nancy also recorded a short video of the deer in action, showing how many there are near their place in Skanee area. I’m sure these deer appreciate the food now when it’s harder for them to find something to eat with snow on the ground.

Very nice pics Nancy, and way to help out the deer
in the wintertime, that is really cool of you guys
to do that. If I lived up there, I would do the
same.
Kathryn, thanks for the correction yesterday, typing
too fast also too tired. lol And yes, you're right!!

I love these. And I love that first photo, too. I
love them all, but that one's my favorite. And I
echo what Chuck said about feeding the deer. I'm so
happy there are people who do that, and not just so
they have a place to go to shoot them.
