Lake Linden-Hubbell Schools held a Family Reading Night last week, with fun and reading activities for kids of ALL ages. Elizabeth Williams was there with her children and a friend they brought along, enjoying the face-painting that was provided. Those sure are some of the cutest, dog, cats and tigers…. roar! Besides the face-painting, there were photo opportunities, games to play, crafts to make and much more. Excellent school program!

This is such a magical time for young children. We had this year's first snowfall here in northwestern Illinois and it's a pretty big one.

We're at the epicenter of what everyone in the national media is talking about today. Twelve inches since Friday night with maybe 6 more before Sunday morning. My Grandson is 3 years old today. He had his first ever, real play day in the snow today and I couldn't get there 'cause I'm snowed in. :>(

We get big snowfalls here, just not all the time, not every other day, like you good folks. Looks like we're both expecting some near zero overnight temps next week.
