Jeff Dennis said for today’s adventures there were no calm seas to be found, despite Fritz and his exhaustive search, so they decided to stay on firm ground and explore around the Keweenaw on land. That’s quite the view of the Portage Lake Lift bridge with all the lights glowing...Fritz looks quite proud of having found such a scene.

That next beach scene is great. Jeff said they were discussing future plans, deciding if they’d go for a ride, take the kayak out for a paddle or maybe just scrap those ideas and have a treat instead. Smart pup right there.

They ended up in the Copper Harbor area, with Fritz finding himself out on a limb, then they checked out the Copper Harbor Front Range Light... in case you don’t know what that is, it’s the front light that is part of a range light system, using two lights to help vessels (boaters) stay on a safe course coming into the Harbor. In the bottom photo, Fritz is taking a break from all their explorations, checking out the view of the Copper Harbor Lighthouse in the background. Seems like a perfect adventure for these two explorers.

We have a mining video from Old Lost Mines. The lead-in says: “The Quincy mine located in northern Michigan was one of the deepest copper mines in the world at the time and ran for close to a century. The depth was over 9000 feet deep. The life span of a mine depends totally on ore reserves along with the grade of the ore and also the ease of mining the ore. Most mines will have a life span of around 20 - 25 years. Some mines in the past only lasted a few years while others like the Empire Mine and the Sullivan Mine and the Quincy Mine, lasted a century.”

Cool set!
“Puttin' on the Fritz”.
And the video was
very informative.

These are just so cool. I love Fritz. Seems like
he's a good human owner and treats them well. The
first picture is my favorite. I'd frame it. But
there are so many with Fritz, how do you choose?

After a tiring day at the U of M Cardiovascular
Center, this just made my day! I can't choose a
favorite, Deb.... they're all fantastic!! lol Way to
go Fritz and Jeff, I've scrolled up and down a dozen
times already, he's so special!! I'll bet Fritz and
my Whitaker would be buds and they'd hang out
together... lol

Thanks Jeff and Mary for putting a smile on my face
at the end of today, much appreciated.
