Chris Hendra, over at Chris Hendra Photography says that beginning in November, it is one of his favorite times of year to sit in his photography blind. The rut is getting close and the deer are moving around more, so he can capture so many interesting shots like these here today. Check out that first photo, that was snapped when we had our first snow last week...there’s a leaf stuck on the spike horn there. How cool is that? And the rest of the photos, too...fun shots that make you feel like you’re out there in the woods with Chris, enjoying all the antics of the deer right along with him. I’m not against hunting, but this is my kind of hunting, enjoying them as they prance about the woods. Thanks for sharing the beauty of nature with us, Chris!
For today’s video, we join Discovering the U.P., epsiode 157, with a variety of stories. The lead-in says: “We take a tour of a trapper's cabin and learn about 906 Predator Lures and the trapper behind them. Then we chat with the Marquette Health Department about their safe firearm storage program they are currently recruiting families to participate in. Plus an early morning diver duck hunt on a Great Lakes bay.”

Love these...awesome pics...
The video is so awesome. I'm addicted to Discovering. The Trapper's Cabin is so cool...this guy has traps displayed from around the world. Old ones too...and he makes his Predator Lures. And the Safe Storage Program sounds awesome, AND if you participate, you'll get paid...anyone with a firearm and a child in the house, please get involved!

Nice set! And when the leaf gets old in the first pic, it will be time for that buck to; Turn over a new leaf. Deer in the wild look much nicer than a deer crashing through the front of a store window which I see more often as deer are showing up in urban areas more frequently. And once they are in the store, they panic because of all the people and they tear the place apart.

Hi These are great photos. In the third photo I was struck by how well the deer's coat color blended into the forest behind it.
Between "love in the air" and the shorter days, the deer are moving around near & across the roads. I've had a few go past in front of me recently. Luckily I was going slow.
