Getting UP before the sunrise definitely has its benefits. Recently, Megan Gervais took an early morning hike to the old railroad trestle on M-26 coming into Lake Linden, to capture the sunrise turning everything golden. Most of us are still asleep when this beauty happens, unless you’re heading to work in the early morning, then you get to enjoy it in person. So a big thank you to Megan for getting UP and making the trek to the trestle to share it with the Pasty Cam folks. Absolutely stunning!

Visit Keweenaw and Nathan “Invincible” Miller are taking us on a hike to a waterfall that they are betting we haven’t seen before. As for me, they’re winning that bet. The lead-in to the video says: “Tibbetts Falls, tucked between Canyon and Sturgeon River Falls, grows more stunning by the day. The hike in is short, sweet, and perfect for a crisp autumn day. Don’t skip a chance to chase one of Nathan's fall hidden gems!”

I used to love catching
the sunrise on the
way to work. Twice a
year it came up
perfectly like it does
in those pics.

Hi
Beautiful golden views.

Alex, in the last decade of my working life, I was
in the unfortunate situation of living west of my
workplace. This sometimes meant driving east into
the sunrise amd west into the sunset.

Very beautiful, Megan. The first one is by far my favorite. The Golden Hour of photography is the most sought after, I think. Fortunately it is often accompanied by a period of calm with no appreciable wind, but it's always a treat to capture a confluence.

The following is courtesy of Michigan Tech Web Cameras. I did edit it to remove the dock area that is presently in some kind of perpetual, unending state of disrepair to gain access to bench and picnic table that in the out of bounds area. Several times I've captured City Workers setting things back up, after people would repeatedly tear down the plastic safety barriers to gain access to the dock, the bench, the picnic table and to swim.

Also, I did NOT perform any image editing.
