Our grandson loves to help on whatever projects we’re undertaking. On this fall day, he was in charge of the cutting of small branches and such that are in the way of the game cameras we have positioned around our property to check on the wildlife that shares our acres with us. We took the time to enjoy the remaining leaves on the trees above us while we were traveling to the various spots the cameras were located. There was still color hanging on this day, but you can also tell that lots of leaves had already fallen to the ground and were blanketing the trails, too. Once we got back home, we checked the cards from the game cameras and low and behold, there was a BIG Moose on the camera located just across the road from our house! We knew this guy was in the area, as a neighbor had a photo of one on his game camera on a road a mile from us. Pretty exciting to get a photo on our camera, but I am glad we didn’t encounter him in person in our woods!
It was a windy day when we were out there collecting cards and clearing the brush in front of the cameras, you can hear the wind in the short video I made of what we were seeing and hearing that beautiful fall day.

Great pictures, Mary! That moose! Holy smokes!
It's a strange fall. There are so many trees without leaves and all a bunch that have a few reds and oranges, but there's still a lot of yellow. And there's some that are barely starting to turn. We have bare maples in the back, some half bare and a couple that are still turning. Very strange, but they can hang on as long as they want. I'm good with it.

Hi Mary, too cool that you have moose nearby. Trail cameras are a great innovation. Recently I watched an episode of Nature where they followed the life of a female cougar using a system of trail cameras. No need for trapping and collaring.
DebS, one of my maple trees is completely bare and the other one still has many of its leaves.

Kathryn, I find that so strange, but I'm happy they're still hanging on.

Nice set, Mary! And the leaves look great against the blue skies. And a good moose capture, but were is Rocky? How I miss the sound of blowing leaves. Thanks for sharing a glorious UP day!!!
