Diane Richard captured the Alberta Pond with beautiful Autumn hues recently. If you’re not familiar with this location it is 9 miles south of L’Anse on US-41. It is also known as Plumbago Lake and is a 16 acre pond that is stocked each spring and fall with Brook Trout, so this is a great spot for those just learning to fish or the seasoned anglers too. There is a small parking area with a picnic table and you can see a bench in the top photo, so it’s also a great place to just stop and take in the beauty that surrounds you there.

The third photo was snapped by Diane as the sun was coming UP in the morning, with a haze hanging over the lake, which we’ve been experiencing more and more as fall progresses and the mornings are cooler. Perfectly beautiful and mysterious looking at the same time. I love it!

And since it’s fall and the leaves are quickly blanketing the ground, I thought it would be a good time for some tips on what you can do with all those leaves. Grow Veg says there is a silver lining to leaves all over your yard. Ben gives us a variety of uses for around the garden, to protect plants and for making mulch. He says not to just watch the falling leaves drift by, but to get out, get raking and bagging them up to help build soil the way nature does.

Absolutely gorgeous! We always want to stop there,
but it seems we're in a hurry coming or going. Some
day maybe we'll just pack a picnic lunch and go
there and maybe a hike at Canyon Falls, which isn't
too far from there.

Beautiful set!
The blue sky in the
first pic looks almost
to good to be true.
I did stop at Alberta
Pond once just to take
in the view and relax
a bit after a long trip
UP from Troy, MI. and
it was just what the
Doctor ordered.

Hi
I like the golden hues in the second photo. The
mist coming off the water in the last photo
reminds me of what I saw Tuesday morning up at my
cabin on Lake Huron.

I'd taken a quick run up there & back to pick up
something I'd accidentally left. Tuesday morning I
went down on the beach, which had a light layer of
frost on the sand. Lake Huron was calm; in a
shallow bay down the coast, steam was rising off
the warmer water into the colder air. Pretty neat.

What beautiful pics...WTG Diane!

And yes, that blue is so blue...wow...just wow!
When they say "it's like a mirror"...that's what
they are talking about!
