The birds don’t always want to share the birdfeeders at Kevin Dunham’s Munising feeding station. But when the squirrel shows up, he just takes over and jumps, landing right on the feeder for some peanuts whether the birds like it or not. Both the Bluejay and the Hairy Woodpecker decided they didn’t want anything to do with that furry critter. Once he was gone again, they returned, also and looked like there might be a skirmish brewing, but then they figured it out and shared the space and the peanuts. Probably until the squirrel returned for more snacks.

Visit Keweenaw has a really short, short for us today, saying: “The fall season has officially begun! A season of fiery hues and wild waters on Lake Superior is upon us, and we are ready to venture on!” Actually, though, the fall season is quickly coming to a close, but we’ll enjoy it for just a bit longer on the Pasty Cam.
