Debbie Jarve was recently given a wonderful opportunity to get some unique fall photos around the Keweenaw, when her friend won a half hour ride on the Isle Royale Seaplane for a color tour and invited Debbie to join her in the air. They flew over some beautiful color in the Keweenaw, got a bird’s eye view of the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse and the Marina, Cat Harbor and around Torch Lake, too. Some places showed off plenty of color, others further north were not yet in full color, but what fun to see it all from the air like that.

MI Playground takes us to 5 of their favorite Upper Peninsula locations for fall photos and they pair them with a nearby adventure that makes the experience unforgettable. The 5 stops include Lake of the Clouds in the Porcupine Mountains, Copper Peak with Black River Harbor, Brockway Mountain with Fort Wilkins Historic State Park, Presque Isle Park and Blackrocks and finally Fayette Historic State Park with a hike along the cliffs.

Debbie Jarve...you were certainly blessed on this
one! And AWESOME pictures....

Fresh Coast film festival just finished up in
Marquette...they had a film on the haunted Eagle
Harbor lighthouse...so I heard.

Good Vid.

Love this set!!!
I used to enjoy
riding around Cat
Harbor (why the name?)
on the Wing. Thanks
for the memory.
And a great video too!
I’ve been to all those
places on the Wing
as well.
Thanks to all of the
contributors. Good job!

Hi
The photos from the plane ride are great. Alex, I
too am curious about the name of Cat Harbor.

I have been to Lake of the Clouds in the Porcupine
Mountains, Brockway Mountain and Fayette Historic
State Park but not Copper Peak or Presque Isle Park
and Blackrocks. I liked the explanation about how
fall color progresses. I knew about the north to
south and inland to coastal but not the west to
east.

What a fun way to see the colors.

Wonderful opportunity Debbie and great photos.

What's the story on the private Torch Lake Lighthouse?

Great Video. They did a wonderful job.

Donna,
Who's the ghost?
