Joanne Furton has been busy capturing the Auroras all around the Keweenaw. She shares a number of them with us today and says this about them: “The UP was voted #1 again for Fall color. It’s like she was saying, ‘just watch this!’ with all of the beautiful Aurora displays lately. I personally was able to catch Aurora on 5 consecutive nights while staying at the Houghton RV park overlooking the Portage Canal and driving to other locations, including Copper Harbor roadside park, Brockway Mountain Overlook, Eagle River, MI, Eagle Harbor, MI, breakers beach, and a small reflecting pond. Some nights were clear, some had clouds, but the Aurora was able to even peak through the clouds a little. The UP is such a beautiful place, and I will always give thanks for that gift. I’m giving thanks that Joanne shared her Aurora adventures with us here today.
Joanne’s timelapse video was one of those nights while at the Houghton RV Park, when the sky went absolutely wild. We’re looking toward Hancock and the Portage Lake Lift Bridge would be to the right. Enjoy!

These are absolutely GLORIOUS. WOWOWOWOW....I sit in my apt looking on you tube (with cuz Bev) for Auroras....and they are right across the canal! Rats! I wouldn't see them from my apt. I get to look at the rentals next to the courthouse! So pretty. (NOT) Thank the good Lord for Joanne! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
