Debbie Jarve made a trek to check out the fall colors around the Canyon Falls Park and along the trails, recently. Sure is looking quite Fallish at the Falls and along the Sturgeon River on the trails. I especially like the shot she snapped of the mushroom standing there in the midst of the green moss on the rocks and then the fallen leaves dotting the ledge of the walls. This Park is a good stop any time of year, but the fall is exceptionally beautiful, for sure!
We join In The Keweenaw doing a drone color check back about a week ago over Houghton and Hancock. The colors here in places just didn’t seem as vibrant and widespread this year. It all depends on where you’re looking I guess. Some places it’s colorful, other places not so much.

These are gorgeous. We go every year, but there was must too many things happening so we didn't make it. So thanks for these.

It is mushroom season for sure...you never know where one will peek out...and some are just stunning. Took a pic a long time ago of one, and lo and behold...a slug was taking a stroll on it..you just never know....Seems to be better color "down south".

Nice pix although they do look a little muted. Maybe it’s the shade or someone mentioned the smoke from the Canadian wildfires dulled the color of the leaves this year. Nice flyover video, but it looks like the trees are not in full color mode just yet.

Donna, it seems from Alberta to this park, the colors are always better. I wonder why?

Looks like one might take a seat, to rest on that toadstool.
Here's the satellite viewpoint of today's color, taken at 1:42pm today. Color looks quite late this year. I hope things "catch up".

Here's two looks at Mt. Ripley, both taken on October 13th at 3:30pm, one in 2024 and one in 2025. Neither photo has been modified.
Note: The camera has been repositioned a few times over the past year.

Quite the difference, D.A.
