Isaac Diener has done it again... captured some outstanding Aurora photos over the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse this time. How neat to have that historic light in the shots with the Northern Lights dancing above it. Isaac commented that his favorite part of this Aurora display was the amazing substorm over Lake Superior. I had to look up what a “substorm” is and this is what I found: “An auroral substorm is a phenomenon in which the aurora, typically a faint, steady glow, suddenly becomes intensely bright and dynamic due to the release of energy in Earth's magnetosphere.” So it was very special indeed!
Isaac also recorded a video and mentioned that for some reason, this video is in reverse, so hiccups are to be expected since he is very new to time lapse photography. Honestly, I really can’t tell it’s in reverse at all. It looks great to me!
As a side note, a few of Isaac’s photos were also featured on Accuweather and his video was shown on the Weather Channel. So he’s getting a bit of TV recognition, too!

Absolutely GORGEOUS!
I couldn't access Pasty for the past 36 hours. Everything else worked OK.

Isaac,
I could tell right away that it was time reversed since the stars rotating about the North Star are going in the wrong direction.
