Bond Falls is located in the Paulding area in southern Ontonagon County. Deb Simons and her hubby, Ron, recently took a drive to check out the Falls, along with the fall colors and were rewarded with beauty all around them, so it was well worth the drive. Bond Falls is one of the most popular U.P. waterfalls, with a developed trail that is “easy to intermediate” for the hike to view the falls. It is well maintained with steps and bridges across the river at the base of the falls. The area is beautiful all year long, but add in the Autumn hues and it’s spectacular.

We had quite the winds on Sunday this past weekend and Shannon over at 906 Images, shares a video of Lake Superior being the Boss, when the winds are whipping. He says: “This what it must look like when Lake Superior comes to grab you!! The crazy power of this Lake to reach me up on this ledge was shocking!” In case you’re worried about Shannon’s safety, he always respects the Big Lake and her power, making sure he’s a safe distance from being swept into the water.

Nice pics at Bond Falls today. Now that the foliage is outstanding in the UP, I'm hoping to see some pics of the covered road. Road trip, anyone?
Great little video of those crashing waves. I had to wipe the spray off my computer screen!

It was very pretty there. And there's no way that
Mary can post all of the pictures there. There's a
lot more beauty if you're into rivers and such.
It's just a beautiful and relaxing spot. I highly
reconnect it.

George, we went to the covered road on Monday and
got some pictures. It wasn't as colorful as I would
have liked, with the windy days wreaking havoc with
the leaves, but it was a beautiful drive, as
always, with just enough color to make it worth
your while. We went to the Porkies too, but
honestly, the best color seems to be along M-26
from Painesdale to right after Twin Lakes, along
with the M-26 drive from Hancock to Lake Linden.
Just beautiful.

Thanks Deb, always look forward to your posts & pics. Foliage is nearing peak here in northeast CT but soon comes leaf pick-up time.....urrghh!

Thanks, George.

Leave the leaves...it's Mother Nature's Blanket.

Deb...PHENOMENAL pics! Did you stay to see the
Paulding Light?? Have you seen that? Did it decades
ago, and I'm so glad I did what I did back in the
day, cause I sure couldn't do it now!

Really cool pics...get some Lake Superior and get
in their photo contest!

And Mother Superior...you do not mess with her!
Good thing Shannon takes care to not get
close...not everyone has that brain!

I had a feeling that
was Deb! Nice set.
And I hope Shannon
brought soap and a
towel because that
was a nice shower.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 - 12:39 pm:

Donna, we have never stayed for the light. My hubby
doesn't like playing dodge a deer on the way home.
I keep saying some day, but I probably shouldn't
wait that much longer, lol.

Deb,
Beautiful photos.
Did you guys get some Jilbert’s ice cream at the Paulding store? I think I visited The Drive-Thru Depot in Lake Linden everyday for some Mackinac Fudge.

Shannon and the camera at 906 must have gotten soaked! I hope it was a GoPro camera.

Here's the bird's eye view, taken today, of Autumn's color status ...

Yes, D.A., we got ice cream at the general store
there. I got the Amaretto Cherry Mackinac Island
Fudge. So good.
