Jeff & Chris Dennis spent some time on Mackinac Island recently, being tourists and celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary! It’s a special place and unique with only bicycle or horse traffic, so definitely a slower pace of life there and you really get a feel for that when you stay overnight. Jeff was busy with his camera getting some great shots around the Island, that really give you a feel for its uniqueness. A note of interest about Jeff’s first photo, Arnold Transit Co. – Cadillac, was built in 1990 and named after Antoine Cadillac, who was the commandant of Fort de Baude in St. Ignace. This vessel holds up to 150 passengers. I think my favorite shot though, is the bottom photo of the Anniversary greeting they designed with rocks on the beach. Happy 25th Anniversary, Jeff & Chris!

Our video about Mackinac Island is from CBS Mornings featuring Michelle Miller and the Director of the Mackinac State Historic Parks, Steve Brisson. The lead-in to the video says: “Nestled between Michigan's Upper and Lower Peninsulas is Mackinac Island, one of the state's hidden gems that transports travelers back in time.”

Hi
I enjoyed the video. It's always good to see a nice
place in Michigan featured on national TV.

Decades ago the marina kept space at the dock for
people who used their own boat to get to the island.
My grandpa would take us over from Cheboygan.
