What a treat to get a view of an entire arc of a rainbow in the sky over Torch Lake in the Bootjack/Lake Linden area. Mandy Cadwell captured this beauty from her home on the Bootjack Road. We don’t always get to see both ends like this and I love how you can see the clouds surrounding it so well, along with the brightness that seems to be emanating from the inside of the rainbow. Absolutely beautiful!
Mandy also shares a bit of the color that is beginning to show up more and more in the leaves around the Keweenaw. According to reports, though, peak color is still expected to be around the end of this month and the beginning of October.
We have a video short from the Woodsy Introverts, featuring what they say are the ‘winds of change’. The lead-in to their video says: “Here in the Keweenaw we are feeling the winds of change in the air. Fall is becoming ever so present in the crisp air and with the darkness slowing creeping its way back in. Peak color season in the Keweenaw is the end of September and into the first week of October. We find the golden days of October absolutely gorgeous.”

Hi It was once said that a rainbow is God's way of trying to cheer us up. So, thanks.
DebS, I'm aware that winter is longer where you are than it is downstate. But, I am ready for fall: cooler temperatures (wardrobe change!)and prettier woods.

This set seems so out of place considering the warm weather that we have been experiencing lately. I’m just not prepared for fall colors just yet. Cool video with a good song by the Scorpions. Another song that I liked by them was: “ Here I am Rock you like a hurricane Here I am Rock you like a hurricane"
