When Shannon, over at 906 Images posted these photos he commented that it “Feels like fall on Lake Superior in Upper Michigan. But that didn’t stop the surfer in the first photo... he was surfing the Superior waves no matter what. Shannon’s wave photos captured the amazing color of Lake Superior’s water as it rocks and rolls, then crashes on the shoreline rocks. Mother Nature at work, creating turbulent water and waves. It’s truly something to behold!
Thumbwind Publications shares an interesting podcast – The End of the Road in Michigan – a Podcast About Forgotten History. The lead-in says: “Explore the fascinating life and enduring legacy of Douglass Houghton, Michigan’s pioneering geologist, whose groundbreaking discoveries initiated the Michigan Copper Rush and transformed the Upper Peninsula forever. This detailed narrative reveals Houghton’s adventurous explorations, impactful civic contributions as Detroit’s mayor, and his tragic demise on Lake Superior. Join us to celebrate this remarkable historical figure whose relentless curiosity and dedication shaped Michigan’s history.”
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the 24th Anniversary of the attacks on September 11, 2001. Commemorations will be held at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York, the Pentagon Memorial, and the Flight 93 National Memorial. The National September 11 Memorial & Museum is hosting a Digital Learning Experience with a 30-minute film and live Q&A with museum staff on the day of the anniversary. May they all Rest In Peace.

I'm watching the Commemoration now. It is just
amazing, some of the kids reading names, were
related to some of the Heros killed that day and
they never met them. Tearjerker...
Our big "Inland Sea" is getting geared up for the
wild times....

These pictures of Superior are
amazing! I saw on the news last night
that the temp on the lake had dropped
to 53. I guess I'm done swimming for
the year.
